My Sister’s House Small Groups – Summer Picnic

A few weeks ago, the ladies at My Sister’s House and our small group leaders spent the morning by the Chattahoochee River. The day included a picnic lunch, short devotionals, and games for everyone. The real goal was to spend quality time together.

Women hiked, laughed, and ate. It was a celebration of another great year of groups. Whether they were sitting in the shade, playing corn hole, or napping in a hammock, the day was a wonderful opportunity to just “be” together.

Life on life relationships are an essential tool for Atlanta Mission, and our Monday morning small groups are the essence of what it looks like to form deep relationships between unlikely friends. These groups create space for clients and partners to get to know Jesus as well as each other more deeply.

Friendships are mutually beneficial. They open doors for us to learn from each other; they provide dignity to everyone involved, and they begin anywhere. We simply have to commit to a process and be consistent. The best solutions are found through an investment of time and relationships.

That Monday by the river was an incredible time for both our women and our partners to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and grow closer to each other. We are so thankful for the amazing partners who not only come to serve our women but also take time to know and love them.
