Bringing Hope to Those Facing Homelessness this Easter

Easter is a time spent celebrating joy, new life, and hope coming from despair. Many of us will spend Easter surrounded by friends and family with plenty of love to fill our hearts and food to enjoy. But for the thousands of those facing homelessness this Easter, it is yet another day full of hardships and longing for new life.

How can you help bring hope for a new life to those facing homelessness this Easter?

There are a few things you can do this Easter season to help:

  • Give a donation. We believe that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, deserves a chance at a new life. This Easter, you can help someone experiencing homelessness get back on their feet with a simple donation. Every donation, no matter how small, will provide someone with safety, comfort, and food for a night. These acts of kindness are the beginning of life change. • Donate Items. With the rainy spring weather in Atlanta, our friends facing homelessness are in need of things such as umbrellas and towels to help keep them dry. You can also help keep our littlest friends dry by donating pull-ups (size 2T-5T) and underwear of all sizes to one of our campuses.
  • Volunteer. Volunteering your time to interact with someone who otherwise would go unnoticed on the streets could be the spark to ignite the life transformation they need. All it takes is someone taking time out of their day to notice them and engage in conversation with them. Volunteering allows you to do just that. View volunteer opportunities at any of our campuses here.
  • Hand out referral cards. Sometimes all it takes to change a life is to provide them with somewhere to go. Keep some of our referral cards in your wallet and pass them out to someone in need. These informational cards tell someone where they can go for a place to sleep, a warm meal, and a chance to transform their life. To download and print our referral cards, click here.

Between now and Easter, thousands of men, women, and children will walk through our doors at Atlanta Mission. From a donation to volunteering, these are opportunities for you to change a life. For some, it will be the beginning of their own story of transformation at Atlanta Mission.

Joyful rebirths like these happen every day here at Atlanta Mission because of generous people like you who support our life-restoring programs. You can find other ways to help make a difference in the lives of Atlanta’s most vulnerable souls here.
