Part-time Thrift Keyholder (Marietta)

The Part-time Thrift Key Holder for Atlanta Mission is a critical member of our Thrift Ministry Team. He or she will serve customers that contribute to our success.

Each day Atlanta Mission receives items generously donated in order to resale in our Thrift Stores. This ensures financial revenue that allows us to provide programming for homeless men, women and children 365 days per year. This position serves an important role in our Thrift Ministry that directly impacts our ability to serve those in need in our community.

We have an opening for an exceptional part-time Key Holder at our Marietta location:

1140 Roswell Rd
Marietta, GA 30062

The part-time position is 20-25 hours a week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Opens/closes the Thrift Store as scheduled and according to procedure established by the manager
  2. Supervises co-workers and volunteers in the absence of and/or as designated by the manager
  3. Assists manager with taking inventory, reconciling cash with sales receipts, maintaining operating and transactions records and other administrative tasks
  4. Follows established guidelines for the operation of the store
  5. Reconciles sales receipts with cash as needed
  6. Prepares or makes bank deposits as designated by the manager
  7. Performs sales of all types of inventory
  8. Helps maintain store appearance
  9. Meets customer needs

Secondary Job Functions

  1. Operates the cash register as necessary
  2. Handles incoming calls, donations, sales, and customer complaints as needed by the manager
  3. Oversees the loading and unloading of merchandise from the distribution center or donations as needed
  4. Processes donations as needed
  5. Maintains a safe and healthy environment for customers, volunteers and staff

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • High school diploma required
  • Must have working, experience-based knowledge of retail sales environment (thrift sales strongly preferred)
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the demonstrated ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with employees (at all levels of the organization) volunteers and others in a team-oriented environment
  • Outstanding conflict resolution/customer service skills required
  • Well organized, diligent and reliable in following through on commitments
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter
