Belinda is one of those people.
Belinda’s youngest of five daughters was kidnapped and sold into sex trafficking. Thankfully, after months of looking, her daughter was found. Lawyers began working on a case to prosecute the man that took her daughter, but as the court hearing got closer, someone showed up at Belinda’s house and shot her 5 times. Belinda survived the incident and her family was sent into hiding.
Years later, Belinda arrived in Atlanta ready to start over and brought her 10-year-old deaf and autistic grandson with her. But they had nowhere to go and no one to turn to. That’s when they arrived at Atlanta Mission.

Now, she is in therapy for PTSD, while her grandson is in school getting the help he needs. They are thriving and doing well.
