Darryl Russ, Vice President of Men’s Services, initially joined Atlanta Mission in 2011 as a Counselor after a career in the housing industry with Freddie Mac and the Atlanta Housing Authority. From 2012 to 2015, Darryl led an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team with the Grady Health System that served serious and persistent mentally ill (SPMI) clients in Fulton and DeKalb counties. Darryl returned to the Atlanta Mission in 2015 as Director of Design and has led the ministry in the design of client-focused technology solutions and led in the creation of an inter-disciplinary service delivery structure that ensures the effective implementation of the ministry’s transformation model.
Darryl has been married to his wife, Ellen, for over 20 years. He is actively involved at First Baptist Church Atlanta as a lay counselor and a married couples Small Group facilitator. He is solely-focused on glorifying Jesus Christ in his professional and personal life and is passionate about facilitating change in individuals and teams to the glory of God. He believes God has prepared him for this wonderful assignment.
Darryl is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. He has a B.A from the University of Virginia and an M.A. in Professional Counseling from Liberty University.
