Donating to a Thrift Store
You can make donations at any of our thrift store locations as well as our administrative office. You can also schedule a donation pickup in Atlanta and Northeast Georgia.
If you are solely donating bags or boxes of clothing, household Items, or miscellaneous items, a minimum of 10 or more extra large bags or boxes is required to schedule a pickup.

We accept delicately used and brand-new items, including:
- Clothing
- Linens
- Upholstered Furniture
- Area Rugs
- Wood or Solid Furniture
- Televisions
- Electronics
- Appliances (see items we do not accept for details)
- Miscellaneous Items such as toys, books, instruments
- Desks and credenzas must be no longer than 4 feet in length and 2 feet in width in order to accept.
We are unable to accept:
- Anything with water damage
- Combustible fuel
- Used mattresses
- Car seats
- Booster seats
- Cribs with a sliding side rail
- Building materials, including paint and carpet remnants
- Auto parts
- Built-in appliances
- Gas appliances
- Used helmets
- Used personal hygiene products
- Inappropriate media (R-rated movies, M-rated games)
- Food and beverages, including pet food *Food donations are accepted at the ministry, but not at our stores*
Frequently asked questions
Yes! Atlanta Mission’s thrift stores are 501(c)(3) organizations and all donations are tax-deductible. Receipts are available at each thrift store location for donations.
Donations can be taken to the thrift stores or the administrative office location.
Proceeds from the stores help fund the life-changing programs at our facilities. Each thrift store also serves as a ministry center in its local community. Our stores have boxes for prayer requests, and we pray with staff, clients, and customers daily. We also partner with local nonprofits, churches, and government agencies to meet the material needs of those who fall on hard times.
Absolutely! Our stores rely on volunteers, who assist with a variety of duties from retail sales and store organization to special programs and events. Call any of our stores directly to volunteer as an individual or as a group.
Yes! We offer free pick ups for large, bulkier gifts (furniture, multi-bag household items and clothing, etc.). Call 404-367-2289 or click here to schedule a pickup!
