Food Donation FAQs

Thank you for your interest in donating food to Atlanta Mission. We appreciate your heart to serve our clients! Please see below for a list of our frequently asked questions. If your question has not been answered here, you can reach our kitchen team by using the form at the bottom of the page.

What items do you accept?

We are always in need of the food items listed in the Urgent Needs section above. Dry packaged foods can be dropped off at our Administrative Office.

Perishable items such as milk, fruits, vegetables, and cold cuts can be taken to My Sister’s House. Please refer to question #4 for more details.

Do you accept canned goods?

If you’re wanting to donate canned goods, we serve 400+ people at each meal service so we prefer #10 cans (instead of the smaller cans). You are welcome to donate cans of green beans, string beans, corn, collards, black beans, peas, carrots and beets.

Do you accept donated food left over from an event?

Because health code regulations can be strict, we can only accept pre-cooked meals from commercial kitchens that follow HACCP protocols.

Where is your drop-off location?

Our central kitchen is located at My Sister’s House at 921 Howell Mill Road, Atlanta, GA 30318. Our receiving dock is on the corner of 8th St. NW and Howell Mill Rd. You can simply pull up to the loading dock on 8th Street and knock on the double doors and someone from the kitchen will be able to assist you with unloading.

Please note we will not accept food donations at any of our other campuses including The Shepherd’s Inn or Restoration House.

When do you receive donations?

We will receive food donations at My Sister’s House 7 days a week between 9:00 am – 6:00 pm.

Who do I contact if I want to provide a meal?

Please contact Aminah Ansari at (404) 588-4000 or via email at [email protected].
