A Month to Celebrate at Atlanta Mission!

The last few months have been an unprecedented time for all of us.

Now more than ever, we want to share some of the most joyous moments from our campuses from the past month. We invite you to join us in celebrating these stories in hopes that they bring you encouragement, too.

Celebrating the End of the School Year at My Sister’s House

We celebrated the end of another successful year of school with the kids at My Sister’s House. All of the kids and their mothers joined us in the brightly-decorated chapel for an afternoon of dancing, laughter, and cake. All of the kids left with smiles on their faces and danced until the very last song was done!

New Jobs and a New Start for Clients at The Shepherd’s Inn

Three clients in our Make Progress program at The Shepherd’s Inn started their new jobs last week! With restrictions being lifted across the city, we were proud to applaud one starting a new position as a floor technician at Grady Hospital and two starting positions at the Cheesecake Factory. Moving into these jobs is truly worth celebrating, because our clients have not only completed the Atlanta Mission Next Steps program and found the next step to restoration, but these jobs will help them be financially stable during the current economic environment.

Coming to Know Christ at The Potter’s House

celebrate at Atlanta Mission post 2

Jesus is the center of everything we do at Atlanta Mission, and it is a day to celebrate when one of our clients comes to know Christ! After only being at the farm for two weeks, one of our clients came to know Christ. He said he had been feeling God tug on his heart for a while, but once he arrived at The Potter’s House, he took the step to talk about his thoughts and feelings to a leadership staff member. Our staff supported him and prayed alongside him. We are proud to celebrate a new brother in Christ!

A Safe Haven During Crisis

During the COVID-19 crisis, we have been committed to the safety of our staff and clients, taking precautions in every aspect possible in facilities that shelter hundreds of people every night. We’re proud to share that our rate of COVID infection across three facilities is holding at less than 1% while a recent report from the CDC shared that other shelters in cities like Atlanta are averaging a 30% infection rate.

God is truly at work on our campuses, and we are grateful for the support of our community. You can read more stories of joy and celebration here
