Common 5K Routes in Atlanta to Run the Atlanta Mission 5K Race to End Homelessness
Our 5K Race to End Homelessness is going virtual this year. Traditionally, our 5K route is through the streets of downtown Atlanta. But this year, you can run (or walk!) from wherever you are – including around your own neighborhood. We are hopeful this will be our biggest and best 5K yet!
As you prepare for the 5K the week of February 20th, it’s time to plan where you will run. Here are a few common 5K routes in Atlanta:
- Cochran Shoals follows the banks of the Chattahoochee River and is a complete 5K
- Chastain Park has paved, marked trails for 5K loops (they are red and blue)
- The Eastside Trail at the Beltline, while a little more than a 5K, is a great option
- The West Palisades Trail at Paces Mill Park is also just over a 5K, but a beautiful run
- Piedmont Park is a city favorite and the loop is right around 4 miles
- If you’re looking for more than a 5K, the Cheatham Hill Loop at Kennesaw Mountain is 5.8 miles and a great spot
These running spots in Atlanta that aren’t exactly 5K length, but still great spots to run/walk and you can always track your miles on a GPS device:
Atlanta Track Club offers a great list of local running spots here.
