For those who live outside, exposure to the elements increases the risk of injury or death from a lightning strike increases significantly.
Loss of shelter & property
Heavy winds and rain can destroy makeshift shelters and damage sleeping bags, clothing, and other personal property.
Illness
Exposure to wet conditions and the inability to get dry can make health conditions worse, leading to hospitalization.
Living outside during severe weather was difficult. I would often find refuge under bridges and overhangs. One time, the weather was particularly bad and I was dumped in a massive puddle of freezing cold water and mud. The last few years in the elements were particularly rough, but God led me out of darkness and to Atlanta Mission.
