Skip the Yard Sale! Donate Your Items to Atlanta Mission
You may not use that extra waffle iron anymore, but if you donate it to our Atlanta Mission Thrift Stores, we could turn that old appliance into funds to actually help people.
When you clean out your home this year, keep Atlanta Mission at the forefront of your mind and your donations. We need your households goods, outgrown toys and clothing that no longer fits to help fund the work we do to serve the area’s homeless.
How Our Thrift Stores Help the Community
Our thrift stores serve our communities in several ways:
- They provide nice-quality goods at affordable prices to the general public.
- They provide work experience and a paycheck to local employees.
- The profits from our thrift stores go directly into other programs such as our homeless shelters and transitional housing.
What We Need
Our thrift stores can use nearly anything you no longer want, as long as it’s in good, serviceable condition:
- Household goods
- Small appliances
If your kids have outgrown clothing and toys, someone else can use them. DVDs you no longer watch? We can use those too. The items you donate will go a long way toward purchasing just one more meal for a child or one more blanket for a teen who has no place to call home.
How Our Thrift Stores Make Our Mission Possible
The income that’s generated from our thrift stores is poured directly back into our shelters in Atlanta. Your clothing donation or furniture donation is quickly turned into revenue that’s use to buy food, bedding and more for the area’s homeless. Because of your generosity, one more family will sleep safe and comfortable in one of our shelters tonight instead of on the street.
If you’re in the process of cleaning out — remember Atlanta Mission and all we do to help the homeless of Georgia. Before you throw it out or relegate it to the yard sale pile, picture the smile on the face of a homeless child. That smile was made possible by your generosity. Contact us today, or take your donations to any one of our nearby thrift stores.
Ways to Give
We’d be honored to have you share in the joys, struggles and transformations of Atlanta’s most vulnerable souls.
