Urgent Needs During the COVID-19 Crisis

Because of COVID-19, we’ve all been asked to return and stay in our homes. But, what if you didn’t have a home?

Atlanta Mission is that safe home for more than 800 men, women, and children facing homelessness right now, providing them with the resources and shelter they need to stay healthy and safe during the pandemic.

As we confront this crisis, prioritize the health and safety of our clients, and serve at a higher capacity than normal, we find ourselves in need of specific items. We are updating our Urgent Needs list daily as new needs are identified.

If you’ve been keeping up with us throughout the COVID-19 crisis, you may have seen a request for board games for the children spending more time in our facilities. We are pleased to announce that we received a very generous donation of board games and no longer need these items. Thank you for your quick response to our needs!

However, while schools are closed, we are experiencing higher numbers of clients on our campuses and are therefore providing an increased number of meals. We invite our partners to focus on donating fresh fruit and vegetables, commercially-prepared meals, and packaged meats (e.g. ground beef, chicken breasts, hot dogs, deli meats, etc.) to help feed those in our facilities. If you would like to donate, reach out to [email protected] for specific instructions.

Other urgent needs include:

  • Bottled water
  • Individually packaged snacks
  • Individually packaged juices
  • Cleaning supplies (e.g. disinfectant spray, antibacterial cleaners)
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Hand soap
  • Paper bowls and plates

Here’s how you can donate.

We are constantly amazed at how much God has blessed us with our incredible community of donors, staff, clients, and volunteers. Thank you for all that you’re doing. Together, we are a community united in this crisis.

We will continue to share frequent updates, including other ways you can join us in this journey of hope. Stay up to date by visiting this link or checking our social media.
