As a volunteer at Atlanta Mission, you join us in ending homelessness, one friend at a time. 

Our volunteer system recently received an upgrade, and it’s now even easier to find opportunities. If you have volunteered with us before, we think you are going to love the new system. You can view it here. 

Over the last few months, we have learned a lot about social distancing and how to keep each other safe. We are so excited for when the time comes, and we can welcome all of our volunteers back to campus with new safety procedures in effect. Until then, we would love your support and participation in one of our Volunteer in Place (VIP) projects this fall! 

Whose place? Yours! Whether you are within the four walls of one of our facilities or your own home, the time you spend caring and serving our clients creates a valuable impact. 

Here is a full list of our new VIPopportunities that our team has created for you to volunteer from your own home:

• VIP Event Write Encouraging Notes: Help us uplift our clients at Atlanta Mission by writing positive, encouraging notes. Notes can be written in greeting cards or they can be handmade and creative! You can mail or deliver the notes to – Atlanta Mission Administrative Office 2353 Bolton Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318

• VIP Event Taco Night at The Potter’s House: Help us provide meals for the men at The Potter’s House. Invite your friends and family to join in on the fun! 

• VIP Event Mexican Night at My Sister’s House and The Shepherd’s Inn: Help us provide meals for the men and women that we serve. Invite your friends and family to join in on the fun! 

• VIP Event Italian Nights at The Shepherd’s Inn and My Sister’s House: Help us provide meals for the men and women that we serve. Invite your friends and family to join in on the fun! 

• VIP Birthday Celebration at My Sister’s House: Help us provide birthday celebration decorations for the women and men at My Sister’s House and The Shepherd’s Inn. We need decorations, cake, and fun gift bags to celebrate our women! 

• Donation Sorting Assistant: Lend a helping hand! Volunteer as a Donation Sorting Assistant help sort and organize incoming donations alongside our donations team. Volunteer individually or invite friends and family to join in a group of 5 or less. This event will happen at our administrative offices. 

Each VIP opportunity is designed to be a hands-free delivery option as we continue to navigate COVID safety precautions. Each event has multiple dates to choose from throughout the fall. For more detailed information and to sign up, you can go to our new volunteer site here.
