Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring my own items with me?

You can bring your own clothing and other items conducive to recovery in a Christian environment. A complete list of items can be viewed here.

What if I don’t have any items to bring?

Our donors show love for our clients by ensuring that every person who comes on our campus receives everything they may need. Because of this, we are able to certify that you will have any clothing, food, toiletries, etc that you may need during your stay, even if you don’t have it when you arrive for intake.

Can I have a cell phone, tablet, laptop, or mp3 player?

While you are in the residential portion of the program, you are not eligible to have access to any computer technology. You will be able to receive your cell phone and other devices once you have moved into our transitional living facility, Shuford Hall.

How much does The Potter’s House cost?

Due to the love and care of our donors, we are able to provide all programming, meals, and utilities for no cost to our clients while they are not making any income. There is no admissions fee for intake into our facility. If a client has income (due to employment, SSI, retirement, etc), they will begin paying a minimal program fee.

Can I bring a vehicle?

Clients are not eligible to have a vehicle on our campus until they have maintained employment for 90 days, to ensure sustainability of car insurance.

Can I visit my loved ones while in treatment?

You will have the ability to correspond with your loved ones through mail, phone calls, and video chats during your time in treatment. While we do not have regularly scheduled visitation on campus, after approximately 5 months in programming, you will be eligible to begin taking passes to leave campus and spend time with your family.

Does The Potter’s House help clients get a job?

Yes! After you have been in treatment for around 6 months, we will create a plan towards employment. We work with partners in the community to support employment opportunities for every client in our care.
