Our Program
Set on 550 acres of peaceful farmland in Northeast Georgia, The Potter’s House is more than a recovery program—it’s a refuge where men can step away from the chaos of addiction and begin the hard, beautiful work of rebuilding their lives.
This long-term, Christian-based residential program provides more than sobriety. Through trauma-informed counseling, evidence-based therapies, and life skills training, men are given the time, tools, and support they need to heal at the deepest level. Certified peer specialists—many of whom have walked the same road—offer guidance and hope every step of the way.
Services
Recovery Services at The Potter’s House
Evidenced-based Approach
Our evidence-based approach teaches men about the science of addiction, the healing process, practical coping strategies, and tools to sustain lifelong recovery.
12 Step Coaching
Each man is paired with a peer mentor who has walked this road before, guiding him step by step through the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) with practical exercises that connect faith and action.
Spiritual Education Services
At the heart of The Potter’s House is our desire to help every man grow in his relationship with Christ through Bible studies, worship, prayer, and classes that encourage spiritual transformation.
Clinical Groups & Classes
Led by a licensed counselor, we provide individual and group trauma informed therapy to assist in addressing the root causes of addiction.
Recovery Groups
Clients attend a variety of Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), and Celebrate Recovery meetings either online or in-person.
GED Classes
We partner with Lanier Technical School to provide on site GED classes and assistance with testing for anyone who would like to obtain their GED.
Job Coaching & Development
Clients work in landscaping, kitchen, housekeeping, thrift, or office areas to build responsibility before employment. We review their performance regularly and periodically offer Forklift Certification through Action Inc.
Life Skills Education
Clients have an opportunity to take elective classes, one being financial literacy, in order to learn the ins and outs of managing their finances better prior to employment.
Community Partnerships
We incorporate volunteers and community groups into daily work to create meaningful opportunities for clients to build relationships that last beyond the program. Our goal is for every client to be rooted in community.
Worship & Recreational Opportunities
Recovery can be FUN so we offer regular opportunities for clients to exercise, play sports like volleyball, pickleball, basketball, and softball, and generally enjoy outdoor recreation.
